The Greenway Project
A community-led project celebrating local heritage, nature and community connection, in creative ways.

Connecting communities through conversations and creativity
About The Greenway
The Kenilworth–Berkswell Greenway connects Kenilworth, Burton Green, Balsall Common and Berkswell. Popular with walkers and cyclists, the fully surfaced route runs through the Solihull and South Warwickshire countryside, offering a peaceful, tree-lined space between communities.
About the Project
The Greenway Project is a three-year creative community project developing new public art for the Kenilworth–Berkswell Greenway. Working with local people, the project is exploring the stories, nature and heritage of the area to shape a new public art trail or series of artworks along the route.
Who is involved
We’re working with a Project Advisory Group made up of local residents and community representatives, councillors and council officers from across the four areas connected by the Greenway: Berkswell, Balsall Common, Burton Green and Kenilworth.
They bring local knowledge, ideas and different perspectives to help shape the project as it develops.
What will the project do
The Greenway Project is working with local people to explore ideas for new public art along the route between Berkswell Station and Kenilworth Common. We’re doing this through community workshops, creative sessions with schools and pop-up activity across the area.
This work is being developed through the Engine programme, which gives two early-career creatives from Warwickshire the chance to learn by doing. They are working with local people to develop public art, supported by a professional artist studio and a place-making specialist.
