About Us

Hello! We're Patchwork...
Patchwork is a new creative duo taking part in the Engine Curatorial Development Programme.
We’re Evelynn and Divya; creative professionals from the West Midlands with different backgrounds, interests and ways of making.
We’re learning how public art projects actually come together…From getting to know a place and talking to the people who use it, to trying out ideas, visiting projects around the country and helping shape a local commission.
Through our learning we have developed the shared belief that public art has the power to bring people together, celebrate local identity and spark new conversations about place.
The Greenway Project is our first chance to put that learning into practice. We’re working across the Kenilworth–Berkswell Greenway, getting to know the route, the communities around it and the different ways people use and experience the space. By working alongside communities, we aim to create artworks that feel meaningful, inclusive and lasting.
Over time, we’ll bring those ideas, stories and experiences together to help shape the final artworks and creative ideas for the Greenway.
Keep following our journey as the project develops, and as we develop our voice as a creative duo.
If you’d like to know more about Patchwork, the Greenway Project or our journey through Engine, please get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.

Our Team
The Greenway Project is led by a creative team working in close partnership with communities, creatives and collaborators.

Evelynn Wenman
Junior Curator / Producer
Evelynn Wenman is a West-Midlands based emerging Artist-Curator with ambitions of becoming a creative producer and managing an artist-led space.
Having completed her masters in Fine Art, she has a strong interest in creating public-facing projects that promote the local creative community and advocate for West Midlands artists through a D-I-Y ethos and taking up space in the arts.
Evelynn is the co-creator of Grasruts Magazine and co-lead of Arts Performance Events, both platforms focus on promoting visibility for working-class artists and developing the local creative and cultural landscape.

Divya Konda
Junior Curator / Producer
Divya Konda is an emerging artist based in Coventry and a recent Fine Art graduate, working across illustration, sculpture and immersive installation.
She's developing her role as a Junior Curator & Producer, with a growing interest in how people engage with public art and creative spaces, from the early conversations to the final outcome, and everything in between.
She's taken part in public art and engagement projects, from mural painting in local schools to volunteering during Coventry's year as UK City of Culture, supporting workshops exploring art, technology and storytelling.
Guided by curiosity and community, her practice values listening, joy, and shared experience.
Our Team
Patchwork are developing our skills with guidance from:

Sam Williams
Project Director
Sam is a public art specialist who has worked across the UK on creative programmes, festival installations and permanent public art. For more than a decade, she has worked in the public realm as an artist, curator, producer and public art specialist, with projects in urban, rural and coastal environments.
She enjoys working with communities, spotting creative opportunities and supporting the delivery of works within the constraints of public space. She finds joy in that complexity - untangling competing priorities, aligning different voices, and then finding compelling ways for creative work to be presented and experienced in place.
Sam Williams Studio Ltd. is an umbrella for the various roles she operates in across projects of varying scales. Her work weaves together play, nature and creativity in public space. She is a champion for inclusive commissioning practices, applying bold curatorial principles that create a more diverse and representative sector, and using models of co-creation to ensure community voices are heard.

Cara Pickering
Senior Place Consultant (Freelance)
Cara is place-consultant and creative producer, who shapes vibrant, inclusive, and culturally rich public spaces. She work with stakeholders to challenge perceptions and create new narratives, but at the heart of what she does is co-create with communities, artists, creatives and cross sector leaders. Central to her practice is the belief in the power of co-curation to forge meaningful connections and shared stories, for social and economic impact.
She loves to connect people and join the dots - from policymakers to the general public. She believes people are the real experts when it comes to themselves, so they should be in the room. Nothing about them, without them.
By crafting evidence-led narratives, opening spaces for diverse voices, and fostering equitable engagement - she works to make spaces safer, cleaner, and more dynamic, ensuring they are relevant and representative of the communities they serve.
