Connecting with the Community
Bringing local voices into decision making
We’ve been meeting people across the four parishes (Berkswell, Balsall Common, Burton Green and Kenilworth) through pop-up events, workshops, a community survey and regular conversations with local community representatives.
We are working in close collaboration with a Project Advisory Group made up of local community members and representatives of decision making authorities (such as parish councillors and council officers) ensuring that their knowledge, ideas and experiences help shape the project and its outcomes.
Their insight is helping to guide our research, how we work with the local community and it also shapes ideas we take forward into the next stage of the project.
Guided by our project advisory group, the responses to the public survey and through insights gathered in a series of creative focus group activities with different user groups, we have established 4 key project pillars to guide the project:
Heritage - the history of the site, stories & the folklore that weaves through the Greenway and surrounding parishes.
Nature - the wildlife, plants and trees that offer an escape into nature and beautiful views across the countryside.
Leisure - the shared use by walkers, runners, cyclists, horse riders, commuters & more.
Community Connection - Local groups, schools, artists, families and friends connect via activities & events on the Greenway.
